Also at the conference Laurie Booth was presented with The Avebury Cup, this is a new award donated by the Archaeology Special Interest Group but awarded by the BSD. Laurie received the award for outstanding achievements in archaeological dowsing.

At the same conference Don was re-elected as Chairman of the Archaeology SIG, Edwina was re-elected as Secretary.

Clive Essery was re-elected as Treasurer with Laurie Booth and Ray Davis as Committee Members.

So a clean sweep for HADs in more ways than one.

Earlier awards from the British Society of Dowsers

The Pogson Cup is probably the highest award the British Society of Dowsers presents and it was an honour for me to receive it on behalf of HADs. We were also given a certificate and a quaich bowl (which we keep).

The award was presented to us by BSD Director Grahame Gardiner for notable achievements in dowsing.

2016—Don Bryan awarded the BSD Avebury Cup

The Avebury Cup was awarded to Don Bryan, “For inspirational leadership of the Archaeological Dowsing within the BSD. An exceptional organiser and teacher, Don's leadership of workshops and field trips and his development and teaching of courses have raised the standard and status of archaeological dowsing within the society. His practical work has also done much to gain credibility for dowsing in the wider world of archaeology.”
