Southampton Archaeology Society Registered Charity No. 2 760 70
|
The society aims to promote and encourage archaeology & related studies and stimulate our members’ interest in archaeology and local history by providing appropriate activities and publications.
Lecture Meetings are held from September to April with speakers on a wide range of archaeological subjects. We hold an annual Study Day on a specific subject or period of history, and occasional practical workshops of interest to members and to enable them to practise new skills. Weekly finds processing sessions are held on Monday evenings at Southampton Archaeology Unit.
Meetings take place usually on the second Tuesday in each month (September - November & January - April). The December meeting would normally include a buffet mainly for members, family and friends (with extra charge); and the AGM is held in May.
