Aims and objectives: WARG, the society for Winchester archaeology and local history, promotes the study of archaeology and local history in the City of Winchester and the surrounding area, through monthly events including lectures; walks; excursions and excavations.

Online talk starts at 7:30pm
With our usual venue, the Records Office Cinema, still unavailable due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, our monthly talks are going online. These will be presented via Zoom commencing at 7.30pm on the second Monday of the month with invitations sent out about a week in advance.

Services and activities offered: WARG provides work parties and other support for Hampshire Cultural Trust and develops training activities for volunteers. Membership: Just £15 per annum, or £27 for two people at the same address. Free entry to meetings, and a thrice-yearly newsletter. To become a member, email membership@warg.org.uk, or download an application form. Times: Meetings and lectures at: Hampshire Records Office, Sussex Street, Winchester - normally second Monday of the month, September to May, 19:30. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start to ensure a seat. Non-members: Unfortunately, due to restrictions of number at our venues, we cannot accommodate non-members at our meetings at the moment.
